Numerous communities and Canadians at large are disgruntled that the federal government believes their proposed firearms legislation believes will affect illegal firearms smuggled into Canada.

It is not a coincidence that the Liberal government under Liberal Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent was responsible for the following atrocities.
This initiative to limit Indigenous rights is not new as we know from the residential schools atrocities but the interference in the lives of First Nations goes deeper.

My class interviewed an RCMP Corporal who was involved in forcing Indigenous families off the land into villages. The move destroyed their culture since following nature's cycle was now unavailable. Previously the group fished, gathered bird eggs, hunted seals and were well and healthy. After the forced move, they sat around kitchen tables, tried to learn how to use a stove and refrigerator. The absurdity and the corporal's ignorance/arrogance was not lost on the students.

The Trudeau government has backed off on some aspects of their controversial Bill C-21 but intends to proceed with a ban on the importation and sale of handguns...all handguns.
