McCormick holds a Sixth Degree Black Belt in Combat Martial Arts. He is a U.S Marine (inactive) and trained with famed CIA operative Rex Applegate and Royce Gracie of the infamous Gracie family and the Ultimate Fighter Challenges. Gracie Jui-jitsu began in Brazil with Helio Gracie, Royce’s father, learning the art from the orient and customizing it to his needs for the streets of Rio de Janeiro.

He is a former member of the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers instructing Seattle Police officers and King County Sheriff’s deputies & has trained with the Canadian Military Police, RCMP and Victoria Police Department.

McCormick is an associate member of the British Columbia Women in Law Enforcement-BCWLE. He has written for law enforcement magazines Blue Line and Twenty-Four-Seven and has been a guest writer for the Vancouver Province.

McCormick was the personal security columnist for the British Columbia newspaper The Province. His columns Cariboo Safety and Rural Crime Watch appeared in various Black Press publications.

He wrote personal security articles for the Canadian Association of Retired Persons, B.C. Woman and Maturity. He has written women’s self-defense pieces for Full Contact and Black Belt magazines. He wrote personal security articles for the Canadian Association of Retired Persons, B.C. Woman and Maturity.

McCormick has an associate of arts degree from Santa Monica College, California, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington, elementary teaching endorsement from the University of Oregon and a master’s degree from the University of Alaska & the University of Portland.

He has studied at the British Columbia Justice Institute, is a member of the College of Teachers, with twenty years teaching children, adults and seniors. He is married, trains & writes at Peterson Landing in Kamloops, British Columbia. McCormick is a member of Sisters in Crime & Crime Writers of Canada.

ONTARIO POLICE FIND TRUNK LOAD OF GUNS FROM AMERICA.
“The tractor-trailer was subsequently stopped at a Ministry of Transportation inspection station near Temiskaming Shores,” the OPP said. “A search warrant was executed on the tractor-trailer.” The case began as an investigation into cocaine trafficking in February when police identified the tractor-trailer heading north as part of the case. “The search warrant led to the seizure of 72 illegal handguns and 66 prohibited devices,” police said.
