HEALTH CARE WORKERS, WORLD-WIDE
Canada's invitation just got better.
“We’re giving these doctors a clear pathway to permanent residence in Canada to fill critical health workforce gaps, while helping support reliable care and a stable health system for Canadians,” a press release from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) said.
Foreign-trained doctors who are nominated for this program will receive expedited 14-day work permit processing. Additionally, 5,000 federal admission spots – in addition to the Provincial Nominee Program allocations – will be reserved for provinces and territories to nominate licensed doctors with job offers."

CANADA'S ARMED FORCES
"Four weeks. One of Europe’s toughest air exercises. A major milestone for Canada.
During Ex COBRA WARRIOR 25-2 in the UK, three RCAF fighter pilots earned their Mission Commander qualification—a key step toward leading large, multidomain NATO operations.
Then, the RCAF members moved to Estonia for TARASSIS and trained alongside Canadian-led NATO Multinational Brigade Latvia and allies from Latvia, Finland, UK, and more reinforcing interoperability and collective defence. Learn how our members led, trained, and proved their skills overseas."

CANADA REVAMPING ITS SUBMARINE FORCE
Here is an article by the Esprit de Corps magazine.
By Tim Ryan
"As Canada contemplates which submarine to purchase, the selection of a Korean boat would open up new opportunities both from a security perspective as well as an economic one.
Hanwha is pointing out that the KSS-III Canadian Patrol Submarine is proven, in-service, in active production, and meets all the operational and urgent delivery requirements for CPSP. That includes superior underwater surveillance capability and deployability in the Arctic with extended range and endurance that will provide stealth, persistence and lethality to ensure that Canada can detect, track, deter and, if necessary, defeat adversaries in all three of its oceans."
It will be interesting to see which submarine the government chooses. From a civilian's point of view both Korea and Germany/Norway are equally competitive.

SURREY, BC MEMBERS CLEARED OF WRONG DOING IN THE TRAGIC DEATH OF TEENAGER
IIO GETS IT RIGHT.
Unsecured pellet gun, a replica of a firearm, lead to the tragic death.

"The IIO’s narrative confirms that Chase left home with a pellet gun taken without his parents’ knowledge, then called 911 himself.
His dad says he had taken the airsoft gun out of a drawer in their house that was normally locked."
"British Columbia’s Independent Investigations Office (IIO) has concluded the two officers who opened fire acted lawfully, but in a striking and unusually pointed section of its report, the civilian watchdog also revealed that none of the officers involved had any autism-specific training and emphasized how Chase’s neurodivergence may have shaped the encounter."
Sadly, there are probably many similar cases. One I recall in North Vancouver I believe where two teenage boys were playing with fake M-16s which were paint guns. Neighbours called it in and the teens were taken down without incident. But I could see that a similar sad outcome could have occurred.

AMERICAN REPUBLICAN ADVOCATING BOYCOTTING COSTCO FOR LAWSUIT AGAINST TRUMP'S TARIFFS
"Time to Boycott Costco. If you are a republican, stop shopping their till they drop their lawsuit against the US government." Threads 12-2-2025

The post refers to a lawsuit Costco has filed against the American federal government regarding their tariffs. "Costco just broke ranks with the majority of corporate America, suing the Trump administration on Friday for allegedly overstepping its authority to impose sweeping tariffs this year — and demanding its money back if the Supreme Court ultimately strikes them down."https://www.cnn.com/2025/12/02/economy/why-costco-is-suing-trump
"My family thanks you for this post. We shared it with our teenagers who are in the process of contacting Costco International in Issaquah, Washington requesting they create local charities to which those customers opposed to the GOP tariffs designed to destroy foreign economies may contribute $. We are grateful for this motivator as we haven't seen our teenagers this motivated.

SEX OFFENDER GRABS CHILD IN SCHOOL WASHROOM. CITIZEN ASSISTS IN ARREST.
"McKinnon said an ‘eagle-eyed’ witness in the school’s front parking lot spotted a suspicious man running away and followed him in their vehicle to a nearby mall.
“From what I learned, it sounds like they just happened to be at the right place at the right time,” McKinnon said.
She said thanks to this witness, police were able to find the suspect very quickly and, along with mall security, arrested the man in the mall parking lot."

"According to court records obtained by CTV News, George pled guilty to sexual interference in 2022. His criminal history dates back to 2015 and shows several ‘failure to comply with conditions’ charges and others, such as unlawful dwelling in a home and weapons violations."
Great to see such cooperation between police and the public. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe every Canadian community has a confirmed protocol with the police force for their jurisdiction on the buildings which includes active shooter as well as an incident like this.

I'm not surprised about this announcement. I've been reading that a huge number of doctors and nurse have already moved to Canada with glowing comments on how they are treated with such respect compared to their American employers.
