The Hoof and Harness was a successful fine dining restaurant located on Exeter Road from 2003 to its closure in 2008. Country Western singer Brett Kissel

RONA MITRA COMMENTS ON TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS

You many have seen her on The Practice, Boston Legal or numerous films. Here she shares her experiences with toxic relationships and how to extricate yourself from the drama and pain.

Thanks Rebecca. I found the podcast fascinating particularly her comments about settling in Uruguay and the adjustments she made. Also her need to leave Hollywood and the film industry. I believe her advice regarding toxic relationships is on target. Even if the toxicity is coming from family, life is too short to have that daily negativity.

NHL BOB PULFORD, "BOBBY" PASSED AWAY.

I knew Bobby as kids in Ontario. When I moved to California I took my friends to a Los Angeles Blades game. They had never seen hockey before and I asked them if they wanted to meet one of the players.

Of course they thought my offer was teenage boasting until I walked down to the ice and yelled, "Hey Bobby!"

He signed autographs for them and made their day.

"Bob Pulford grew up and played his early hockey in Weston, Ontario, living there with his family from about 1940 to 1950, attending Weston Collegiate, and playing for local teams before his professional career. He was a prominent figure in the Weston sports scene, playing football, lacrosse, and hockey, and his formative years in the suburb were crucial to his development as a hockey player."

BRITISH COLUMBIA INCREASES REMAND OF REPEAT CRIMINAL OFFENDERS

The province has increased its retention rate by 19%, from 56 to 75% in the pilot program of eighteen months.

Here are the details. The article doesn't note the specific communities but does say the program has expanded to three other cities with Members hoping the Crown in their jurisdiction will join the program and remove repeat offenders off their streets.

"The province says the legal system has increased its effectiveness dealing with violent repeat offenders, with them spending more time in custody and Crown counsel seeking detention more frequently at 84 per cent versus the previous 67 per cent."

KAMLOOPS, BC MEMBERS' PURSUIT ENDED.

UPDATE

Do you have particular incidents which bring back fond memories?

This Kamloops pursuit reminds me of a similar pursuit where a Member from a neighbouring detachment was chasing a stolen vehicle.

I was listening to the chatter when the suspect passed me and stopped at a gas station.

I advised the Members of his location then pulled in behind the suspect.

I don't know if I could do something like that. Kudos to you for helping. Oh, I just looked at McCormick's About page. No wonder. The Mounties obvious know all of that as well which is undoubtedly why they ask for his help,
