 Education. Violence against Canadian teachers

In 25+ years in elementary-high school I've seen violence numerous times but never twice from the same student because we expel them. Zero tolerance.

No discussion with parents, admin etc. A student threatened to kill me and my family. He was arrested before the end of the school day n banned from the community.

It's going to happen but how staff handle the situation is key.

Police asked me to evaluate a junior high's compliance with "Active shooter" protocol. The school failed n the officers changed their response protocol because staff refused to cooperate. https://www.ctvnews.ca/vancouver/article/kicked-bitten-slapped-bc-teachers-say-classroom-violence-is-out-of-hand/

AMERICAN TARIFF COST BEING PAID BY THEM.

"In fact, the extra money now flowing into Canadian coffers — for context, Canada supplied the U.S. with more than 60 per cent of its crude oil imports last year — will go a long way to making up tariff losses, and could end up more than compensating for them."

TRUMP ECHOES PUTIN'S IMPERIALISM TACTICS.

"Russian dictator Vladimir Putin invaded his neighbouring democracy, Ukraine, militarily. Donald Trump is taking on the look of a Putin of the West – a smaller version, in that his assault on his neighbouring democracy is mainly economic. So far.

"He will pay for making an enemy of Canada. And following short-term pain, for Canada there will be gain. A nation’s strength doesn’t derive from dependence, but rather the opposite – and the President’s bid to Americanize Canada will lead to more de-Americanization in this country than ever before."
