The suspect was wanted on a warrant for failure to pay child support...for which he almost died.

"Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Henderson had a warrant Sept. 19 for Kerr’s arrest, the sheriff’s office reported. Kerr was wanted for an alleged probation violation for failing to pay child support, according to court records."
