Little information is known at this time other than an in custody man is dead and the Mounties are being blamed.

Our concern is that the Members may being scapegoated by ignorant prosecutors. We've seen numerous cases in the past where bogus charges were filed against Members.

In a news release on Friday, police said the two officers have been arrested and charged with criminal negligence causing death, and failing to provide the necessaries of life. They've also been suspended from duty.

"It says Blackduck was arrested and put into a police vehicle, and then left there while the officers "were gathering more information on site."

When Ash and Young went back to the vehicle, Blackduck was found unresponsive. Attempts to revive him failed and he was pronounced dead at the scene."
