My friend responded to a business silent alarm at 0200, pulled up to the business. The suspect, goods in hand, saw him and took off with Don in hot pursuit.
After a short run the officer grounded the suspect. He shouldn't have resisted arrest.
After a brief visit to emerg, the suspect was processed and Don hit the road for the remainder of his shift.
Driving home later that morning, Don saw his suspect strutting down the street.
That night Don arrested him again, also for a B&E.

Don says he can't let the system get to him, he will keep arresting, re-arresting until a judge decides enough is enough.
"Justice Minister David Lametti says he will discuss reforming Canada’s bail system when he meets with his provincial counterparts this Friday."

Metropolitan, DC police chief wants prolific criminals to be jailed indefinitely.
Although I'm now a Canadian resident, I have many American law enforcement friends who face this daily.
"What we got to do, if we really want to see homicides go down, is keep bad guys with guns in jail. Because when they're in jail, they can't be in communities shooting people. So when people talk about what we gonna do different, or what we should do different, what we need to do different, that’s the thing that we need to do different," Contee said.
