INDIGENOUS CIVILIAN TO MONITOR THE MONITORS

DO YOU BELIEVE THE "INDEPENDENT" INVESTIGATIONS OFFICE MEMBERSHIP IS THIS DIVERSE?

"In a September letter to the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) and the attorney general, the three groups ask for the appointment of an Indigenous civilian monitor to the IIO, to review and assess the integrity of the investigation. They also ask for a person in that position to be involved in any matter involving an Indigenous person."

Considering the number of encounters First Nations citizens have with police, this makes complete sense to have an indigenous person on the board to oversee the IIOs investigations, particularly given the group's questionable track record of catigating officers with little or no evidence.

Do we presume there is already Black representation on the board?
