HAPPY CANADA DAY FROM TKEMLUPS te SECWEPEMC

Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Chief and Council wish you a Happy Canada Day!

Today we are celebrating the amazing place that we all call home. As we celebrate Canada Day it is important to take time to think about our beautiful, diverse country and its future. Part of the future needs to include real reconciliation with First Nations. The future of Canada is one where all relationships are based on respect, recognition and most important, truly acknowledging one another.

There is still much work for true reconciliation to make Canada a better, stronger, kinder, more inclusive Nation for all. This should be our promise to the youth of today who will be our leaders of tomorrow.

Above all, today is about sharing and celebrating all Canadians; from the most recent immigrants, to the settlers who have been here for generations, to the First Nations who have been here since time immemorial.

Today-🇨🇦s 155th B-Day, I celebrate these beautiful lands which have sustained our people since time lost in memory.

Today I celebrate all who now call this land home.

Today I ask each & every one of us 2 learn our true history, understand & act. #TrueReconciliation #CanadaDay🧡
