SUKWINDER MANHAS, THE PORT ALBERNI, BC EDUCATOR & MARTIAL ARTIST HAS DIED.
Good morning:
I really wasn’t going to post anything.
In all honesty I don’t truly feel like participating in life today but time waits for no one. So here goes.
Sukwinder was the truest brother to many not just his family and that is reflected in the overwhelming response from the number of people who have reached out in the past day. His untimely passing creates a void that will not be easily be filled but I challenge everyone to do their best to spread kindness in his honour.

Our parents always believed in service and he chose to serve the community with youth development thru sports and education. He chose to carry a legacy forward from a person who had passed far too young that had put the time in to help develop him into the human being he turned out to be.
It is not lost on me how hard his dojo students are grieving right now as Sukwinder and I both lost or sensei far too soon. That being said, the seeds that were planted turned into many beautiful blossoms and my brother was one of them as are many of the students he helped raise thru Coastal Martial Arts. So I ask you not to get lost in your grief but to challenge yourself to carry on his legacy and find the way in which you can make a difference to improve the lives of others around you as you move forward. Fight the good fight and understand what he wanted for you as a person.
Many martial artists like myself can do. Few can teach. Few can mold young minds into self belief and self confidence the way he could. In sports and in life.
The world shines dimmer today For all his brothers and sisters and I grieve not only my family’s loss but the loss for our community.
