WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT. WE'RE KILLING TOO MANY BEARS

WHO IS TO BLAME?

"We’ve spoken to many Conservation Officers over the years and they are terribly frustrated. They’d prefer to kill no bears and they wouldn’t have to if people turned their shame on their selfish neighbours."

"Sixty-three black bears were killed in our region last year, more than one per week . Sixteen black bears were killed in Vernon alone, 13 in Kamloops. 36 bears were killed in Kelowna over the last five years and 56 were killed in Kamloops in that same time period."

We are not killing as many bears as British Columbia and those which are euthanized are generating citizen animosity.
