I knew Bobby as kids in Ontario. When I moved to California I took my friends to a Los Angeles Blades game. They had never seen hockey before and I asked them if they wanted to meet one of the players.

Of course they thought my offer was teenage boasting until I walked down to the ice and yelled, "Hey Bobby!"

He signed autographs for them and made their day.

"Bob Pulford grew up and played his early hockey in Weston, Ontario, living there with his family from about 1940 to 1950, attending Weston Collegiate, and playing for local teams before his professional career.
