📞 On average, the CPS responds to at least 1 call every day involving air guns. Half of those calls involve youth. Between January & March of this year, nearly 50 incidents listed a young person as an offender where bear spray was either present or used as a weapon. That’s not the kind of reputation anyone wants.

🔹 When bear spray or air guns are carried or used against people, the law treats them as a weapon. That means real Criminal Code consequences.
🔹 Committing a crime with bear spray or an air gun can lead to charges like assault with a weapon & possession of a dangerous weapon that can impact your opportunities, your record & your future long after high school.
❗ Air guns & bear spray are not toys & they are no joke. The public safety risks that come with youth carrying them are real & significant. There is no excuse. If you’re worried about your safety speak to a trusted adult or call 911 if it’s an emergency.
