I've been celebrating Dr. King's birthday since as long as I can remember. On our street in S. Los Angeles, we always had a block party with pot luck, dancing, and yes, drinking by adults. It was a celebration to beat all celebrations.
Look at the people at that famous speech:
I admit that I have lived in his shadow so to speak and not making the waves I could have and should have. And by doing so the country has slipped. We must work together to bring back the morals and dignity and stand up for and make the changes that all of us can live with equality and justice.
