MIGHTY GIRL SHARES DR. MAYA ANGELOU

A Mighty Girl

In honor of World Poetry Day, we're celebrating "Phenomenal woman" Maya Angelou!

To introduce kids to this legendary poet and author, we recommend the board book "My First Maya Angelou" for ages 1 to 3 (https://www.amightygirl.com/my-first-maya-angelou), the picture books "Maya Angelou" for ages 5 to 8 (https://www.amightygirl.com/maya-angelou-little-people...), and "Rise! From Caged Bird to Poet of the People" for ages 9 to 12 (https://www.amightygirl.com/rise-poet-of-the-people)

There is also a youth-friendly introduction to Maya Angelou's extraordinary work: “Poetry for Young People: Maya Angelou” for readers 8 to 15 at https://www.amightygirl.com/poetry-maya-angelou -- and a new Maya Angelou Inspiring Women Doll at https://www.amightygirl.com/maya-angelou-doll

To help instill the importance of loving yourself in your Mighty Girl, regardless of your size or shape, we've featured a selection of empowering books for children and teens in our blog post, "Celebrating Every Body: 35 Body Image Positive Books for Mighty Girls," at https://www.amightygirl.com/blog?p=10912

Among our favorites are several excellent self-esteem boosting books on the importance of loving yourself, including "I Like Myself" for ages 3 to 8 (https://www.amightygirl.com/i-like-myself), "The Body Image Book for Girls" for ages 10 and up (https://www.amightygirl.com/the-body-image-book-for-girls), and "The Body Image Workbook for Teens" for ages 13+ (https://www.amightygirl.com/body-image-workbook)
