"June 11th will forever be my personal Independence Day. The day I used two words, “I’m done”, to break away from an unhealthy marriage, and turn the page to the unknown. I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew, after stumbling a bit, that I would be ok. I am grateful to my family who held me up, my friends who embraced me with constant love and encouragement, and my children who gave me my bliss that I sought. I have emotional scars that have healed though they have left their marks, and a determination to keep getting up every time life throws me down. Mamas for Mamas is a national charitable organization that supports mothers and caregivers in crisis by providing ongoing support to individuals and families facing various poverty-related struggles. Our mission is to change the landscape of poverty through innovative approaches to financial barriers faced by struggling families.


While our name is Mamas for Mamas, we welcome caregivers of any gender identity or expression, including men, trans*, non-binary, and two-spirit clients. We envision a future where no Mama or child is left behind.

So true! Too often we know we need to exit a relationship or a job but are too frightened at the prospect of the unknown. Take the First Step! I did with zero friend or family support and found my solace by going back to school.

It took her eight years of performing in small nightclubs but she made it. She IS Tina Turner, a woman who has motivated millions to have the courage to leave abusive relationships, dead-end jobs, abusive families and start a new line...solo!
