"B.C.’s anti-gang agency has failed to stem the gang war that has resulted in dozens of murders and public shootings over a two-year period, according to a report commissioned by the B.C. Public Safety Ministry."

"CFSEU is the designated lead agency targeting the gang conflict with a budget of more than $90 million. It is the third-largest police force in B.C. with more than 440 officers."
The critical 123-page report (B.C.Public Safety Ministry) said the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit “is neither effective in suppressing gang violence and organized crime nor is it providing the province with an adequate return on investment.”
"The review found that Spectrum had no investigative component and amounted only to increased intelligence-sharing between police agencies [and] the entire project fell short of being an effective response to mitigate gang violence."
"It also criticized CFSEU’s governance structure, calling it 'a complicated tangle of organizations' including the RCMP, the Organized Crime Agency of B.C. and municipal police forces."
