“I come upstairs thinking it’s the cat knocking something over and I see this guy on the back porch and he just starts banging away on the back door and shattered the glass,” said homeowner Robbie Justason.
“I was going to try and scare him off, but he flashed a gun.”
That’s when Justason said he ran out the front door.
“Scariest moment of my life. Probably the scariest thing that’s ever happened to me.”
He was able to run to a neighbour’s house and tell them what was going on.
“I heard gunshots by the time I got outside,” he said.

It is always tragic when any life is lost needlessly but the emphasis needs to be on the officers involved. In the military I was asked in boot camp about taking a life and a great deal of time and effort was put into analyzing my answer.
We know there has to be an enquiry and that it totally understandable but officers need to be protected from overzealous and ignorant prosectors who have never been on the receiving end of bullets. I understand Mounties have the National Police Federation and I suspect they are already on the scene to protect the officer involved.
I like the accompanying tag about not being a victim. Thank you!
