1950's SATURDAY MATINEES

"This was a time when a childhood imagination was prone to run wild. Fueling our minds were characters like Captain Kangeroo, Howdy Doody, Buffalo Bill, The Mousketeers and western movies like the Lone Ranger, Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy and Gene Autry. A time when good and bad were black and white. I can remember the basement ruins of a building down the street where I would single handed spend hours defending it against enemy forces."

WILD SYMPHONY by DAN BROWN with KAMLOOPS SYMPHONY

Kamloops, British Columbia parents and children packed Sagebrush Theatre on November 5, 2023 to enjoy the entertainment of narration of Brown's book accompanied by the sounds of the Kamloops Symphony promoting elementary school music.

Numerous instruments were available in the lobby for children to peruse with the assistance of young adult musicians while conductor Dina Gilbert energized the 650 attendees by enthusiastically introducing the orchestras' instruments.

Our thanks to organizers for a brilliant promotion. We hope many children and families enjoy the pleasures of learning an instrument.
