"Officers were directing traffic at Bank and Albion during a power outage when they noticed vehicles trying to weave around something on the road. Upon further inspection, they found a Momma duck and her three ducklings trying to cross the road. They were unable to reach a crosswalk button. Staff from a nearby business helped officers get a box and round up the ducks. They were released into the Ottawa River and happily paddled away to safe waters."
Very cute story! This is kind of a segue from the above. A woman driver in Quebec a few years ago who stopped on the highway to let ducks cross and a motorcyclist crashed into her. I wondered at the time how fast was the bike travelling that he couldn't see the stopped vehicle. I would think he was partially responsible. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/quebec-motorist-accused-in-two-deaths-said-she-was-helping-ducks-1.2663840
