Telus recently placed Call Control on all landline & cell numbers. It is explained on your My Telus account.
It is a free service which blocks robocalls.
Theoretically the service can be activated by the customer but I learned today, after two weeks communicating with Telus, that they put it on all phone numbers.
We discovered this accessess out bank account. Verification is via an automated phone call from the bank.
They couldn't get through because the caller must push a number.
When Call Control is activated, the call is interrupted by an automatic message, "This number has call control". The bank's AI terminated the call.
I encourage you to check your phone numbers and if you don't want Call Control, call Telus tech support.
