"Just over 118,000 B.C. cars entered Washington state at Metro Vancouver crossings in June."
"Now is the time to choose Canada … It might mean changing your summer vacation plans to stay here in Canada and explore the many national and provincial parks, historical sites and tourist destinations our great country has to offer,” Trudeau said...
"In early March, Premier David Eby doubled down, urging British Columbians to avoid travel to the U.S.
'If you have a choice about where to travel, avoid travelling to the United States,” he said."
Why are so many Canadians still travelling to the U.S. in light of America attacking the Canadian economy, causing people to lose their jobs as plants curtail production or close entirely?

"The fear and uncertainty that has gripped Canadians around job losses, inflation and market volatility caused by the despotic U.S. administration — not to mention its attacks on democratic institutions, free speech, higher education and due process."
...The time has come to stand up and be counted. Canada, which can no longer assume the U.S. has its back, needs to draw a sharper line between itself and its unruly neighbour."
Social media is rife with tales of Canadians being turned back or detained at the American border. Currently there are thirty Canadians detained by ICE-Immigration & Customs Enforcement. One French scientist attempting to enter the U.S. for a conference was arrested and is being detained for deportation...to Russia from where he left decades previously.
This Canadian spent two weeks in an ICE detention center.

I'm reading comments online to the question and found some interesting answers. Big one is the number of people travelling back and forth for work, visiting relatives etc. We don't know the percentage of any of the motives but sadly it is the stores and employees in all American border states which are being affected. I doubt Trump cares about how his policies are affecting Americans.
I think I might know. They have zero patriotism and would probably move to the U.S. if they could.
Pen and I are new Canadians and are astounded by the number of British Columbians who travel to Washington for gas and groceries, totally ignoring their own neighborhood stores.
When this Trump attack began and we pulled American wine and spirits off our shelves there was a hue and cry from a lot of people saying they were being denied the choice. These people obviously, to us, are self-centered with zero compassion for Canadians losing their jobs as the result of American economic aggression.
