Canada could build several Mars Bomber replicas and deploy strategically across the country covering zones.
Critics pointed to the refueling challenge of the old Mars but a new ground landing plane wouldn’t be restricted. Loading water from our numerous large lakes would be simple as would adding the retardant bombers which have had incredible success in fire fighting in British Columbia.
I lived around the point on Sproat Lake and observed their fighting skills first hand.
Wayne Coulson offered it to the BC government but they rejected it as being too costly.
These planes are remarkable. I read that the process is to drop the retardant in a perimeter around the fire and as the blaze spreads, it hits the retardant and stops.
They would be expensive to build-Bombardier? but considering the cost of fighting wildfires the cost would be justified. Also, fewer homes lost, fewer displaced people etc.
