"The new compensation system, known as a time modifier, came into effect on July 1 and recognizes the fact that prescribing medications for treating COVID-19 can be complex and time intensive. Usually, family doctors in B.C. are paid around $30 per patient they see, regardless of how long it takes. The new time modifier, though, let’s them charge $43.50 for up to four 15-minute assessments a day for patients who qualify for COVID-19 treatment."
