With all due respect to Maestro Black, shouldn't the community be supporting Canadian artists?

I agree with McCormick. I'm an American living in Santa Barbara and am appauled by the treatment Canadians are receiving from the U.S. Canadians are fighting back finding new trading partners, purchasing from Canadians and I'd like to think, not hiring my fellow Americans. Black's bio says he is American currently in Montreal. Not a Canadian. It also appears he will be working in Great Falls, Montana next year.
I wonder if the Canadians who support the decision to hire this man are of the same ilk to continue crossing the border to spend their money in America and not Canada.
We don't know the selection process Rebecca but at a time when the U.S. is attempting to ruin our economy we need to put every effort into supporting Canadians in every endeavor.

Here is a link to Alberta conductors. Kamloops hosted a visiting conductor recently from Alberta.

I agree. Canada is home to hundreds of conductors. Possibly the selection committee wasn't thorough enough.
