During Tuesday night’s leaders’ debate, BC Conservative Leader John Rustad gave a bumbling response to a question about Indigenous communities in BC.
"A BC Innovation Chair in Indigenous Health at Thompson Rivers University is being recognized for his scholarly achievements by the Royal Society of Canada, the highest honour an academic can receive in the arts and humanities, social sciences and science.
Dr. Roderick McCormick, a TRU professor and member of the Mohawk First Nation, is among 104 new fellows that have been elected by their peers for outstanding scholarly, scientific and artistic achievements — and the first to be recognized from TRU.
'It is a great honour to be recognized by my academic colleagues in electing me to be a Fellow in the Royal Society of Canada,' said McCormick."
