The judge accepts evidence submitted by undercover Members that the suspects wanted to kill Mounties and yet doesn't convict them of conspiracy to commit murder.

"Canada. Section 465 of the country's Criminal Code makes conspiracy to commit murder an indictable offence, punishable by a maximum term of life imprisonment."

Two men have been sentenced to 6 1/2 years in prison for their roles in the blockade of the Canada-U.S. border crossing at Coutts, Alta.


"The judge said he also accepted as true Olienick’s comments to female undercover Mounties, in which he said he viewed the blockade as a war, that weapons were needed for credibility and that he would like to slit Mountie throats."

This doesn't make sense. How can the judge acknowledge that the suspects planned to kill officers and yet find them not guilty of conspiracy to commit murder?
