AMERICA VERSUS CANADA IN EXTRADITION OF HUAWEI CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER MENG

DO YOU BELIEVE CANADA SHOULD SUPPORT AMERICA'S SANCTIONS AGAINST IRAN?

A lawyer for Canada's attorney general drilled down to the nuts and bolts of a U.S. request for Meng Wanzhou's extradition Wednesday, accusing the Huawei executive of "dishonesty" that resulted in a fraud against HSBC.

"And so my lady, at last we come to committal," Robert Frater told B.C. Supreme Court Associate Chief Justice Heather Holmes as he began submissions on the final leg of a process that began more than two-and-a-half years ago with Meng's arrest at Vancouver's airport.

Frater told the judge an extradition proceeding is not a trial; he said the Crown only has to show that prosecutors would have enough evidence to try Meng for fraud in Canada if her alleged wrongdoing had happened here.

"In August 2013 after a series of reports suggesting a Huawei subsidiary had violated U.S. economic sanctions against Iran."

The West's involvement in the Middle East began with George Bush Jr.'s lies about Iraq having weapons of mass distruction.

With the collapse of Afghanistan and the Taliban returning to power, and Joe Biden's recent statement, "our reasons for remaining in Afgahnistan are becoming inreasingly unclear" it is evident that America's nation building, which Canada supported and participated, is a failure. The West can not remake a country, any country in its image.

Ergo, let's drop the entire Huawei/Meng debacle.
